Privacy Policy

How American Miles Inc. handles the information you share on this website. Last updated October 17, 2026.

American Miles Inc. ("American Miles", "we") is a trucking company based in California, USA. This policy covers american-miles.com. It does not cover other websites we link to.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us through this website:

  • Contact form: your name, email, phone number (optional) and message.
  • Driver application: your name, phone, email, city and state, driving experience, preferred language and how you heard about us.
  • Driver documents you upload: PDF copies of your Class A CDL, your driving record (MVR), your DOT medical card and, unless you choose to bring it in person, your Social Security card. If you bring the card in person, we record that you confirmed you have a Social Security number. These contain sensitive personal information, such as your Social Security number, driver's license number and medical certification details.

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across other websites. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for security and to keep the site running.

How we use it

  • To answer your message or question.
  • To review your driver application, contact you about driving jobs, and check that drivers meet the qualification rules of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
  • To keep the records that federal and state law require employers to keep.
  • To protect the website and our applicants from fraud and misuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not use your sensitive personal information for anything other than reviewing your application and meeting legal requirements.

Before we run any background check or request a report about you from a consumer reporting agency, we will give you a separate written disclosure and ask for your written permission, as the Fair Credit Reporting Act requires.

Who we share it with

  • Our team: applications and documents are available only to authorized American Miles staff who handle recruiting and driver qualification.
  • Service providers that run this website for us and may only use the information to provide their service: website hosting (Vercel), secure database and file storage (Supabase) and email delivery (Resend).
  • Government agencies and others when the law requires it, such as a court order, or to protect people's safety.

How we protect it

Everything you send travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Uploaded documents go straight to private storage. They are never sent by email or posted on a public link, and only authorized American Miles staff can open them, after signing in to our internal system. No method of storing or sending information is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep applications and the documents sent with them for at least one year, which is what federal employment record rules require, and longer if a legal claim or investigation is pending. If you are hired, your documents become part of your driver qualification file, which federal motor carrier rules require us to keep while you drive for us and for three years after. When we no longer need the information, we delete it. Contact form messages are kept only as long as we need them to help you.

Calls and text messages

If you agree when you apply, our recruiting team may contact you about driving jobs by phone, text message and email. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop text messages, or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties for their marketing.

California residents

Depending on how the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies to us, California residents, including job applicants, may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we have collected about them and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong;
  • ask us to delete their information, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • limit how we use their sensitive personal information; and
  • not be treated differently for using these rights.

To make a request, email office@american-miles.com. We will confirm who you are before acting on it, and you can have an authorized agent make the request for you. As described above, we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Children

This website is for adults. Our driving jobs require drivers to be at least 23, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
